Dazzling touch – Mirror, Mirror salon takes fun hair seriously

Opening a new business during a pandemic may be risky, but Megan Nibler was willing to take that risk two weeks ago when she opened Mirror, Mirror Beauty Salon.

“So far I’ve been getting great feedback about location and salon space,” said Nibler of her inclusive and gratuity-free salon at 268 E. Ida St. in Stayton. “I am a one-person salon, so you get private, individualized attention from me. I offer amazing products by Milkshake Hair, which once you experience the line you will fall in love with!”

Nibler was a stay-at-home mom for years before becoming a stylist.

“Once I was ready to get back into the workforce, I wanted a true skill and career I could be proud of,” she said. “I went to beauty school a little later in life by this industry’s standards, but I’ve worked very had to learn everything I can and keep refining my craft.”

Previously, Nibler had a private suite in the Portland area, but now that she and her husband and three kids have moved to Stayton, she “stumbled upon my little space and it is perfect for me!”

At Mirror, Mirror, she offers a variety of hair services, including color, cuts, perms, Brazilian blowout services, and other treatments.

“Blonde work and vivid hair color are what I do most, but I love all hair!” she said.

Now that COVID restrictions are lifted, more is in Nibler’s future.

“In-person education is finally starting up,” she said. “I’m looking at a variety of classes to learn new techniques and so excited to get some hands-on education in.”

“I’m so thankful to everyone who has supported me so far,” Nibler said. “Opening a new business in such a delicate time feels risky, but I love Stayton and hope to be a part of the community for many years to come!”
