Crown Jewel: Society forms to help library

The Stayton Public Library has been called the town’s ‘Crown Jewel.”  Since 2007 the library has fulfilled the title by providing expanded services such as the Outreach Storyteller and increased Internet access.

To ensure the library continues to be a treasured resource the Stayton Library Public Foundation has formed “The Crown Jewel Society.” Society member benefits include discounts at the Friends of the Library Bookstore along with special invitations and early entry into “Spotlight Events” at the library.

Upcoming events are:
Oct. 20 – Presentation with Oregon’s Poet Laureate, Paulann Petersen.
Oct. 23 – Crown Jewel Society kickoff party, “Sipping in the Stacks.”
Dec. 9 – Reception and program with Naseem Rakha, author of bestselling novel, The Crying Tree.

Gifts to the Crown Jewel Society will be used to fund special library programs and enhance library facilities, equipment and services.  For information: 503-769-9658 or staytonlobraryfoundation.org.
