Hospital series promotes health education

Santiam Hospital is beginning a new series of free programs on lifestyle modifications and health issues. Wheels of Change starts Tuesday, March 12 from noon to 1 p.m. and will continue monthly through November on the second Tuesday of the month. The sessions are in the hospital’s Freres Auditorium. Light snacks will be provided.

Topics to be discussed include nutrition, diabetes, assessment and transitions of care, movement as medicine, depression, anxiety and stress, pain management, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), quitting smoking and hypertension.

Registration is encouraged at bit.ly/49dCOW9. The first 30 people who register will receive a free gift related to the monthly topic for each class. For information email [email protected] or call 503-769-9319 to speak to someone in English or Spanish.

Potential participants who have possible barriers to attendance such as child care or transportation are urged to call or email to see if they can be accommodated.
