Hueller Construction, Inc. of Lyons recently received its second Outstanding Remodeling Achievement award in an annual statewide competition held by the Oregon Remodelers Association. The awards are based on criteria including ability to meet clients’ needs, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovative use of methods and materials, and ability to overcome difficulty. Entries were judged by a panel of construction professionals.
“I am very pleased that we’ve entered this contest for the last three years and we’ve won two out of three years,” Kurt Hueller of Hueller Construction said. “This year, our project was the most involved remodeling project that we’ve ever done. I found it very rewarding to work with our lead carpenter Darin Gerdes and so many local subcontractors.”
The Sublimity-based project featured a large custom swim spa room and bathroom, adjacent to a larger project that included a three-car garage. The whole home also received new windows, siding, roofing and paint. The spa room was designed to accommodate a large swim spa for physical therapy use.
“They also wanted this space to provide a comfortable sitting area to capture the morning light with an adjacent small bath and dressing room,” Hueller said.
The addition included installation of a heat recovery ventilation system fixed in the spa room for humidity control and energy savings. The project featured a clear cedar ceiling, as well as decking around the spa for drainage control and to provide maintenance access space.
The project won the Outstanding Remodeling Achievement Award in the “Residential Addition $150,000 to $250,000” category. The remodelers association is based in Portland and has more than 400 members. For information, contact Kurt Hueller at 503-859-3575 or www.huellerconstruction.com.
