The Stayton/Sublimity Chamber of Commerce has announced its Award of Excellence winners for 2013. The awards go to community leaders and chamber members who were nominated for their contributions to the Stayton/Sublimity area.
Winning the Distinguished Service Award is Tracy Jones, who took top honors for demonstrating outstanding community service and positively impacting her community. Jones has been manager at NW Preferred Federal Credit Union in Stayton for several years and was instrumental in starting the Summer Concert series on Third Avenue and the Summerfest Clown Parade.
The Chamber Award of Excellence for Small Business goes to NW Preferred Federal Credit Union and Large Business to Roth’s Fresh Markets.
New this year, the Business Beautification award goes to Mid-Valley Veterinary Clinic.
Future First Citizen honorees are Danielle Guerra for Stayton High School and Sarah Tabor for Regis High School.
“We were very pleased that every category had several nominations submitted,” said Kelly Schreiber, SSCOC executive director. “The selection committee did a thorough job in making the tough choices of the recipient for each category. All nominees were very deserving, which is heartening to know our community is so involved in making this a great place to live and work.”
The Stayton/Sublimity Chamber of Commerce awards celebration will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 at Foothills Church in Stayton. Full stories on the honorees will appear in the Feb. 1 edition of Our Town.
