Fun-damentals: Kids make a splash at library

There’s no doubt that families are having fun at the library this summer.

Children are reading stacks of books and earning prizes.  Those too young to read are having fun at story times, singing, dancing and hearing stories.

Anyone may join craft times on Tuesday afternoon. Teens will game, create and get wet. Families are enjoying performers, including Reptile Man and Presto the Magician, on Thursday afternoons.

Teens and Tweens have their own program called “Make Waves – Read.”  The events are varied but many of them have to do with getting wet. But if water isn’t their thing the library also plans a tie-dye event or inside activities like gaming tournaments, a food extravaganza, Tae Kwon Do presentation, craft projects and movie nights.

This year there’s also a Summer Reading Program for adults. The focus is on gardening. Also taking place are movie nights, Stitch, Hook and Scrap events, a drawing for akayaking trip, a night at the movies and more.
